21 de May, 2026 Coffee History

Building close relationships with coffee producers and maintaining strict quality standards are at the heart of what we do. That’s why we make a point of meeting the growers, their teams, and visiting their fincas firsthand.

We regularly travel to Genova, a small town in the Quindío region tucked away in a lush valley. Here, coffee is far more than a crop — it is the lifeblood of the community. From the main square, the surrounding hillsides covered with coffee trees are visible in every direction.

Along the village’s colorful streets, Jeeps piled high with coffee sacks and young coffee plants reflect the nonstop rhythm of daily life, already in full motion at sunrise as the harvest season begins.

During our visits, we meet with our production manager, who carefully oversees the quality of every lot. Coffee is not simply an agricultural commodity; it is above all the result of human expertise, craftsmanship, and generations of knowledge.

Leaving Genova behind, we follow rugged dirt roads winding through the mountains and alongside cascading waterfalls. These remote routes lead to farms that were once reachable only by mule. Whether under intense sunshine or heavy tropical rain, we visit three different estates during this journey.

The producers possess an exceptional understanding of their land, soils, and climate, enabling us to further refine processing techniques — from traditional washed coffees to more innovative methods such as Honey processing and natural fermentation.

Through these regular visits to one of Colombia’s great coffee regions, we are able to maintain strong personal connections with the growers, pickers, and skilled professionals whose work lies at the heart of creating an exceptional coffee enjoyed and recognized worldwide.
